Storm8 Celebrates 1 Billion Downloads

Leading Mobile Game Network Marks Milestone by Unveiling New Storm8 Brand and Immortalizing One Lucky Player.
Leading mobile game network Storm8 today announced that its games have now been downloaded more than 1 billion times. To celebrate, Storm8 is immortalizing the first eligible player* who downloaded its newest hit, Restaurant Story 2, after the milestone as an in-game character. The lucky player, Ohio resident Amanda Snider, is also receiving a new iPad mini 3 and 1 billion Storm8 gems in Restaurant Story 2. “One billion downloads is a huge milestone, unmatched by most in the mobile market, and representing nearly six years of hard work and millions of hours of play,” said Storm8 CEO Perry Tam. “We wanted to mark it in a big way, by celebrating the most important reason for our success: Storm8 players, who inspire us daily to keep creating new ways to play and explore.” Storm8 is dedicated to building a world of play, with high-quality experiences throughout its network that foster curiosity, discovery and moments of joy, again and again. Storm8’s 1 billion downloads have led to more than 76 billion game sessions, with hundreds of millions of players enjoying more than 2 billion hours of gameplay in the Storm8 network. Storm8 also unveiled a new brand identity, uniting all of its game brands under the newly created “Storm8 Studios” banner. The new Storm8 logo features two puzzle pieces that interlock to reveal an endless monogram of the letters “S” and “8,” representing the infinite ways to discover play within the Storm8 network. • The first 300 visitors to the Storm8 booth can grab a chef’s hat to redeem a free meal from the Storm8 and Restaurant Story 2-branded food truck parked at 651 Howard Street (at Third Street) on Thursday, March 5, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
• Tim LeTourneau, Storm8’s chief creative officer, will present “Perfecting The Recipe for Success: Restaurant Story 2 Postmortem” on Thursday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
